PJLI employees glimpsed into the history and culture of one of the smallest republics in the world through a film showing activity at the Consular Office of the Republic of San Marino in the Philippines on March 12, 2013.

The afternoon’s main feature was Scuderia Filibusta, a documentary on how the first motorcycle racing team was formed during the late ‘50s in the Republic of San Marino. The picture opens to Ennio Zani, one of the founding members of Scuderia Filibusta, who reminisced how his love for bikes led him inside an exclusive circle of riders and friends who did not mind the risks in the motorcycle races.

The film also captured the passion and dedication of the Italians and Sammarinese which are among the values that shaped their culture.

San Marino is one of the oldest-surviving microstate in the world, where its economy is based on a well-diversified banking and financial sector, small and medium enterprises and tourism. Cebuana Lhuillier President and CEO Jean Henri D. Lhuillier serves as its current Consul General in the Philippines.
